Citroën Traction Avant: Rubicon Review

- By Jakob Lotz

So a little while back I got my hands on one of Rubicon's new resin vehicles - to be more specific, the Citroën Traction Avant! I'm just going to say this right out of the gate, wow, just wow. This is one high-quality kit!

The model comes in a rather unassuming box. It's nothing fancy but it sure does the job, and given that it's really the contents of the box that is important, the looks of the packaging doesn't really matter that much.

Inside the box you will find all the bits and pieces neatly packaged in a ziplock bag as well as a decal sheet and instructions for putting the car together.

In the ziplock bag you will find the following pieces. You will also get a choice of two different styles of headlights.

The quality and detail on this kit is some of the best I've ever experienced with a resin model. All the details are crisp and nothing was bent or out of shape.

There are even the correct type of grooves on the tires!

Assembly of the model was also a breeze and I found that it was pretty easy to figure out what went where without needing to consult the instruction sheet.

I then primed and painted the model using the tried and tested sponging technique. I eventually wound up with this:

I'm super happy with this little kit and can't wait for what Rubicon decides to do next in their resin line. If it's anything like this one then it's guaranteed to be an excellent addition to anyones collection!

All in all I would recommend this kit to anyone looking to add one or more cars to their WW2 motor pool.
